Follow the decision
The customer’s need should match the service being promoted. A broad audience is not useful if the team cannot fulfill the request.
Give the customer credible evidence, service boundaries, and a clear next step through the profile or website experience.
Answer, qualify, and record the outcome. Both channels can waste spend when the response process fails.
Trendi’s planning framework
Consider a focused LSA test for the services you can deliver. Before launch, review our LSA ranking factors and optimization checklist. Do not assume eligibility or verification alone guarantees lead volume.
Check review readiness, too. Google identifies review ratings and review count among LSA profile-quality signals. Build a repeatable process for requesting honest feedback and responding to reviews. Recent feedback helps customers judge your current service, but Google does not separately identify review freshness as an LSA ranking factor. Review strength should support reliable intake and relevant coverage, not replace them.
Consider a Search campaign with a destination that explains scope, evidence, and the first step. Make the page useful on mobile, and validate that form and call tracking reflect real inquiries.
Use separate campaign reporting and a consistent qualification definition. Identify duplicate customers where your records allow, and compare booked work after allowing for the sales cycle. Avoid adding the same person to both channels’ new-customer totals.
Evaluate Search advertising against your offer, budget, policy requirements, and website readiness. LSA ineligibility does not establish whether another advertising product will approve or perform for your business.
Illustrative comparison
Example only—not client results or market benchmarks. Assume two tests each spend $1,000 on media. Test A generates 20 inquiries and two bookings. Test B generates 10 inquiries and four bookings.
| Metric | Test A | Test B |
|---|---|---|
| Media cost per inquiry | $50 | $100 |
| Media cost per booking | $500 | $250 |
The example does not assign either result to LSA or Search. It shows why the denominator matters. Include management, creative, website, and other costs when comparing total acquisition cost, and review the value of the work won. A few bookings are not enough to establish a stable long-term result.

Common questions
Neither is universally cheaper. Compare actual costs and qualified outcomes for the business, using the same reporting period and definitions. Avoid treating another company’s cost per lead as your forecast.
Clicks describe ad engagement, not customer suitability. Track successful inquiries and subsequent outcomes. Our measurement guide explains how to keep those stages separate.
One shared comparison can support the city paid advertising pages. Each city page should explain its service plan rather than repeat the same platform comparison.

Apply the guidance
Explore the service approach in your city. Availability of Local Services Ads must still be checked for your specific business category and location.
